Thankful for....
In keeping with the theme of "remembering benefits" I was thinking of the house that we have been living in the last 2 1/2 months.
With 3 adults and 3 children, plus 2 babies on the way something with a lot of room was needed and this was perfect for us. It was located just a 15 minute walk from Ryan's parents and a 5 minute drive from Karen. There is a field in the back (winter wheat that Ryan planted) and a big yard in the front and back. We were able to see lots of deer - sometimes up to 7 at one time - and hang homemade bird feeders so the kids could see all the birds come and eat. With the living room at the front of the house (and a big and low window) Julia was able to watch cars come in and watch for daddy and the kids to come home.
Last night I went to see our 'old' home which is pretty much finished (one part of the floors need to be redone but otherwise it is done). It was so nice to see a finished home - the paint, all the trim, the new kitchen, the new floors & carpet and lights. The popcorn ceilings were gone as well as panelling on the walls and mismatched pieces of trim. The house is light and bright, smells clean (not that it stank before but when I was last in there with all the fans and water it wasn't pleasant). There is no evidence of any water damage (everything was taken out) and the disaster of a house that I walked into on December 30th is now a distant memory. It has been a blessing to have this house to live in for 3 months but we are all looking forward to being back home again soon.
This house was empty the week before we needed to move in so we could move right in. It was very clean and warm and there was lots of room. Five bedrooms upstairs and a bathroom and the main floor has a mud/laundry room, kitchen, bathroom, dining room, living room with woodstove, big hallway another large room (we use it for storage and my sewing stuff) and lots of closets.
