Happy Birthday Hannah

Image
Happy 4th Birthday to this sweet girl, known affectionately as Hanny Hoodle Doodle, my little Noodle Poodle (don't ask - it just happened one day). Hannah is strong willed but also very sweet. She is a very girly girl, always playing with her doll "Baby Sister" and love to help mommy with cleaning - she is often seen walking around the living room with a baby wipe or duster dusting the tables, fireplace and cleaning windows. Whenever I try to leave the house, she stands defiantely in front of me with her hands outstretched and says "No - you can't leave!" as though I can't just pick her up with 2 fingers and move her. She is also a loves shopping - no matter what kind. I've taken often taken her with me looking for quilting material and she looks carefully for the right colours and is eager to hold our great treaures. Wherever she does go, people ohh and ahh at her because she is very petite and very polite (saying Good morning and thank you to the ...

Camping

Last week I went camping with Rachel & Ryan and the kids. It was a great weather week (no rain!!!) and hot. The water was a bit cool on some days (Tristan asked if there were ice cubes in the water) that made it a bit more 'challenging' to be in the water - but the kids loved it. Julia really enjoyed the beach this year (though she ended up getting sick near the end of the week so she didn't go on Friday). She had her own personal bucket for 'cleaning off'. Basically she just played around and did whatever she wanted - and was careful by the water until 1 time when daddy went out with Tristan and Hannah and she decided to go in after them. One of the fun things that Ryan does is bring a big shovel. He digs huge holes (which are great for keeping the babies "contained" and the kids have endless fun filling it up with water. So what do you do with the extra dirt? Bury everyone of course! Hannah and Julia were giggling away as they buried Tristan. Next wa...

Canada Day

This year for Canada Day Rachel and I took the kids to St. George for pancake breakfast. It said it started at 8, so we got there at 8 - but no one else was there yet (besides volunteers) so we had no line up. Oma and Karen came with Eli & Analia. We met lots of friends there too! The kids were given flags which they loved to wave around The firehall mascot (a big dalmation) was walking around the fire hall giving the kids candies and taking pictures. Julia watched him from the far side of the building... I guess she was pretty excited when she realized that he was a dog... But as soon as he came near her she started screaming in fear. Talking with someone later, they wondered whose poor kids was crying. We were going to go to the Lynden parade but had quite a bit of time to kill before, so we headed to the park with oma, Karen and the other kids. They loved the park! It was perfect for their many ages. Hannah pushing Analia on the swing - and Analia just loved it and laughed the ...
