Home Depot
Saturday started off as a busy day!
First there was breakfast at Fifty's with Erin. It is always fun to go there and see who you'll run into. We were waiting for a table, commenting on whether or not we'd see Mr. Park, when I looked behind me and thought I knew someone sitting at one of the tables - but it was that akward moment when you're not sure and if you look back you'll look like a stalker but if you don't and you did know them you'll look like a snob... well, thankfully, Jessica came over to us! She and Eric were having their "just done working the night shift' breakfast. Later on we saw the K family who so kindly (though the waitress didn't seem to think it was a nice thing) paid for our breakfast for us. It was nice to spend some quiet time talking with my dear friend - and see others as well!
Then when I got home, the twins were awake and Rachel and I took the kids (except for Tristan who was working at the farm) to Home Depot. Someone asked me the other day "Why do you always talk about Home Depot?" I guess I only talked to them once a month :) Well, on the 2nd Saturday of the month they have a free (FREE) Kids Craft event in the mornings. The kids get a work apron, a certficate that they completed a project and a pin as well as a free craft. This is a great way for the kids to learn how to use hammers and nails (safely) and make something really neat. This time it was picture frames.
Julia 'technically' isn't old enough to go (you have to be 4 and she'll be 3 in 2 weeks) but there are much younger kids there that need a lot more help - so the girls running it said she was more than welcome to come. She is always the proudest of her hard work. It is fun to see the kids learning all these new skills and loving it!
And then there are these two... They aren't in the little baby car seats anymore so we put them in the shopping cart. Home Depot has these great ones that are like race cars. It was the first time the boys were in them and to say that they loved it... well that would be an understatment! I love how their personalities come shining through in this picture! Anthony (on the left) is sitting back, relaxing but having fun. Blake - well, he is mouth open, yelling (as he often is making some sort of noise) and leaning forward trying to get things to go faster. It is hard to believe that these two are 9 months old already!!!

After our trip there we headed to Dutchies (since it is about 15 minutes further from the Kitchener Home Depot that we go to). The boys get lots of oohhs and aahhs from every shopper there and while we were waiting to get lunch meat, everyone asked if there were 2 sets of twins. "No, no," Rachel kept assuring them, "the girls are 2 and a half years a part. Just the boys are twins". I was in a different line from Rachel and someone came up to me and said "Didn't I just see a boy who looked like this one with a different lady?" Most days they don't look like they are identical but there are still lots of folks who can't tell them apart... well... until you get to know their personalities.
By 12 the boys were in bed for their afternoon nap, the girls were settled downstairs to watch Angelina Ballerina (It teaches us how to dance properly Aunt Jen), I was in bed (with a migraine) sufficiently smooched by Julia and Rach was enjoying some quiet moments before heading to Aunt Karen's to decorate cookies.
A beautifully busy morning - filled with laughter, song, laughter, hugs and smooches. Can't get much better :)
